Scope

Planned visits
Frequency agreed per site, typically quarterly or six-monthly. Each visit follows a checklist agreed at the start.
Compliance calendar
EICR due date, RCD tests, emergency lighting function and duration tests (BS 5266), and any client-specific checks, tracked with reminders.
Written findings
After every visit: what was checked, what was found, photographs, and a priority rating.
Remedial quotations
Issued separately. Nothing beyond the agreed scope is carried out without written instruction.
Reactive support
For contracted clients, within the response window written into the contract; out-of-hours attendance where the contract provides for it. We do not advertise 24/7 cover. Call-out and hourly rates are fixed in the contract.
Exclusions (typical)
Fire alarm commissioning, HV, specialist plant, lift electrics and work requiring a specialist certification route outside the agreed scope. Anything else excluded is listed in the written scope.

Access and shutdown planning

Testing part of an installation means switching it off. We agree isolation windows with you before the programme starts, work out of hours where the contract allows, and phase boards so trading areas are not all down at once.

What you receive

Timescales

When you enquire we confirm the survey date and the date you will have the written proposal, and we keep to them. Programme dates are agreed, not guaranteed, and depend on access.

What stands behind the work

  • Delivery is planned around the agreed scope, site rules, safe isolation and practical reporting.
  • Personnel and delivery partners are selected to match the agreed scope, site requirements and certification route.
  • Management oversight includes site-supervision, health-and-safety management, first-aid-at-work and access-safety training; site-specific RAMS are prepared for every job.
  • Test instrument and reporting: Megger MFT-X1 multifunction tester and CertSuite digital certification. Calibration evidence can be supplied on request.
  • Where a project requires a particular certification or supply-chain route, this is agreed before work is accepted. We do not claim memberships or accreditations that have not been confirmed for that work.

Questions we are usually asked

Do we have to have an EICR before a maintenance contract starts?

Not necessarily. If you hold a satisfactory report with time to run, the contract starts from that report. If not, the first task is usually an EICR so the calendar has a baseline.

How often does a commercial premises need testing?

There is no fixed legal interval for non-domestic premises. The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 require installations to be maintained to prevent danger; IET Guidance Note 3 recommends maximum intervals (commonly five years for offices and shops, shorter for industrial and some other environments). The interval for your site is set from the last report's recommendation and the use of the building.

Can you work with our existing contractor?

Yes. We can take the testing and remedial element alongside another contractor's installation work, or act as overflow capacity.

Do you provide RAMS?

Yes, site-specific, before the first visit.
